Smokin’ Woods has 4 1/2 stars on Yelp. I am sorry but I do not get the hype. It was not bad but it was not all that great. Mr Sweetie and I both ordered the dinner combo which came with two meats, two sides and bread. We both had the pork ribs and brisket. They were out of the beef ribs on a Saturday evening at around 7:00 pm.

The good — meats were well-seasoned and tasted good. The bad — the brisket was dry which is a mortal sin when it comes to brisket. The ribs were like burnt ends.
As for the sides I had the bbq beans and collard greens. Mr Sweetie had the potato salad and vegetables. We also got a roll each. The sides were actually tasty and flavorful.
Mr Sweetie also got me a glass of Chardonnay which was nicely chilled and very drinkable.
Bottomline, it was a nice date night on a lovely afternoon in cool space with outdoor seatings where we sat. Service was friendly but very slow.
I was disappointed because I hardly eat meat. When I do, I want it to be worth it. I am not so sure about Smokin Woods BBQ but I wish it all the best.

I was going to say the meat looks like it has a nice bark on it and all, but it’s kind of hard to dry brisket out with all the fat on it. That’s a mortal sin!

It was so disappointing to get a dried out brisket! It is a big no-no in bbq-ing!

I agree. Normally when that happens to me a throw a chair through the front window to express my displeasure. I wouldn’t recommend that, though. It never goes well. 😑

Ha! Ha! I usually do those things in my head. Saves me time from going to jail and legal fees!
