100 Simple Joys and Happy Moments

     25. An hour of solitude

The world can get so loud sometimes with unnecessary noise and chatter. Sometimes I wish I can push a magic button where I can put the world on mute and on pause even for just a couple of minutes.

I found an hour of solitude in a quiet corner under a stairwell in Japantown. I was an hour early for my afternoon tea date with my friend.  I found this little corner and just sat there mesmerized by sound and flow of the water fountain. The place was quiet and nearly empty.

I am grateful for this little break and I wish for more quiet moments like this.
