El Salvadorean Tamale (Home cooked in SF)
My BFF Edelmira gave me some chicken tamales that her mom made. I had one for breakfast this morning and it was so yummy! It was one of the moistest tamales that I’ve ever tasted. I just needed some Tapatio! It also had beans and green chiles.
The difference between El Salvadorean tamales and Mexican tamales, you asked?
El Salvadorean tamales are wrapped in a banana leaf before steaming while Mexican tamales are wrapped in corn husk.
