Hai Ky Mi Gia (SF)

The Braised Duck Leg Wonton Egg Noodle Soup is the most popular dish at HKMG.

The French has Duck Confit but the duck leg at Hai Ky was so tender that they might as well consider it The Chinese Duck Confit.  The sweet and savory duck is marinated in Chinese spices and will literally melt in your mouth. The noodles were nicely cooked and chewy. The tasty broth which came on the side can be used to alternately dip the duck and noodles, followed by a taste of the sweet and sour pickles.

Located in the Tenderloin,  Hai Ky is a noodle house that offers a long list of other Chinese (Teochew to be specific) style soups made with egg noodles (skinny or thick), ho fun, wontons, silver rice noodles or combinations of the above. There are also 33 kinds of soup at Hai Ky.

Hai Ky offers the best deal in town. This hearty meal of braised duck legs, noodles, soup and pickles is only $7.50! You can order the Braised Duck a la carte for $3.92.

Do not leave without enjoying a glass of soy milk $2.50. (I like mine hot.)
The soy milk is made fresh everyday at 4 am. Sweet and comforting.

Hai Ky Mi Gia is worth a trek to the harsh and scandalous TL.
