Lers Ros Thai (Larkin)
Lers Ros Thai is the home of Duck Larb: #45 2013 SF Big Eat 100 Things to Try Before You Die.
However, there is so much more to choose from among Lers Ros Thai’s 120+ items on the menu– including alligator, rabbit, frog and boar. Yup! Have I tried them at Lers Ros? Nope, I had alligator in New Orleans before and I will wait until I visit NoLa again until I devour me some alligators. Rabbits are too cute. I refuse to ever eat them. And I actually like crispy frog legs.
Anyway, Lers Ros on Larkin serves consistently solid Thai food in SF in a casual environment. The curries are done well. For a nicer, more “date night” ambiance, go the Lers Ros on Hayes Valley where the atmosphere is more sophisticated/classy.
Lers Ros also offers a very affordable lunch special menu for $8.95 with a choice of two items and white or brown rice.
It is located in the TL which is okay to venture to in the daytime but do not walk there alone at night!
